One of my family's shared pleasures is picking up random facts while browsing over-sized, coffee table timeline books and atlases. One such book, a combination of the two types, that I recently reviewed is A New Atlas of World History.
Although you won't get the physical sensation of thick, glossy paper between your fingers, the following list of assorted timelines and dynasties may interest you and lead you to further exploration in the vast time period of ancient history. Remember: we can't say for sure when many of the events happened. For most of the ancient period, dates are approximations.
